a、an、the 的用法
一句话答案a 和 an 都表示「一个」：后面单词第一个音是辅音就用 a，是元音就用 an（an apple、an hour、a uniform）。the 表示「这个、那个」，用在说话双方都知道指哪一个的时候。
a 还是 an：看第一个「音」
a 和 an 意思一样，都是「一个」，只用在单数、可数的名词前。选哪一个，只看后面那个词读出来的第一个音：
- 第一个音是辅音 → 用 a；
- 第一个音是元音 → 用 an。
为什么要分？试着连读 a apple，两个元音撞在一起，中间要停一下；说 an apple，n 正好连到后面，读起来像 a-napple，很顺。

the：说的是「那一个」
the 叫定冠词，意思是「这个、那个」，可以用在单数和复数前。最常见的五种情况：

什么时候不用冠词
下面这些搭配里不加 a、an、the，是小学到初中最常考的：

the 的两种读音
the 在辅音前读 /ðə/，在元音前读 /ði/，规律和 a / an 一样：

中文没有冠词，说「我是学生」不需要「一个」，所以最常见的错误是漏掉冠词，其次是 a 和 an 只看字母。

常见问题
为什么是 an hour，不是 a hour？
hour 的 h 不发音，读出来第一个音是元音 /aʊ/，所以用 an。选 a 还是 an 只看读音，不看第一个字母。
为什么是 a university，不是 an university？
university 虽然以元音字母 u 开头，但读出来第一个音是 /j/（像 you），是辅音，所以用 a。a uniform、a useful book 也是同样道理。
play the piano 和 play football，为什么一个有 the 一个没有？
课本和考试的规则是：西洋乐器前加 the（play the piano / the violin），球类运动前不加冠词（play football / basketball）。
the 有两种读音吗？
有。辅音音前读 /ðə/（the book），元音音前读 /ði/（the apple）。强调「就是那个」时也常读 /ðiː/。
